R.I.P Amanda Todd

Fifteen year old Amanda Todd comitted suicide October 10th, 2012.  She went in a chat room with her friends a few years ago. She wanted  to meet new people. They complimented her, then they asked her to flash (nude picture), so she did. About a year later somebody messaged her telling her that if she didn't give him a 1 on 1 show that he would send her boobs out to all of her friends, family etc. A few weeks went by, and it was christmas break, 4am the cops were knocking at the door. Her boobs were sent to everyone. She went into a depression. She lost all her friends.Her parents knowing what was happening moved, different school, a new beginning for her. Not too long after she moved to a totally new place, the guy who had the picture found her and sent her boobs out again. She got into drugs, and alcohol. She became a cutter. She was so depressed, she didn't go out. So she moved in with her mom in a completely new place. She stared to talk to an old guy friend that was now leading her on, saying he liked her. He had a girlfriend. He invited her over. She went, they hooked up. She later got a text saying "leave your school now". She decided to ignore it. Everyone surrounded her. Two girls came up to her telling her to look around, and nobody likes her. A boy screamed out "Just hit her already". They threw her to the ground and hit her several times. She ran to a ditch and her dad found her later. When she went home she drank bleach, attempting suicide. She was rushed to the hospital, and they flushed her system. She gets home and sees posts all over facebook telling her to drink bleach again, saying nobody likes her, and telling her to die. She cried every night. She started cutting again. She attempted suicide again and failed.  She was getting help and she was on anti-depressants but not even this help. On October 10th, 2012 she hung herself, ending her life forever.
Was this the smartest choice? I believe it wasn't, she had many options, however, when put in a situation like this your mind blocks. Her parents knew what was going on, they could've done something about it not only moving but pressing charges. The guy was stalking her. We all make mistakes. Now a days I think every girl that has access to the internet has been asked to flash. Ladies don't do it and as far as bullying goes it's a big part of every teenagers life but there are different ways to handle it. Cyber-bullying is a big one now a days, as soon as you start getting bullied diactivate your facebook account. People can't talk if they don't have anyone to talk about. If facebook is that important in ones life then make a new one and keep it private just close friends and family. As soon as you stop giving them attention things will most likely wear off. Print out the things that are going on and keep them filed for when charges are pressed, that is all evidence of what's been going on. Even if it's a fake account atleast there's a name. Block those people from facebook. Moving is one of the things that could be done but don't stop there press charges! Sometimes for this things to stop we have to give it a little attention, through the news, newspaper, police anything and everything that you can get. Stop bullying! 

Chicago teachers on Strike

All of us at one point or another, wished that school was closed for a long time or that our teachers would go on strike so we could have a long time off school. Well think about it, would you really want to? Chicago teachers went on strike for about a week and a half. No class, no football practice, no games, no nothing. The reason? Fair evaluation for them, limits in classroom size, and better working conditions. Yeah the reason are fair and reasonable, however,  there are so many students in the streets at that time when they could be at school. So many students that don't eat at home, they depend on school cafeteria food. These teachers think they're doing students a favor by going on strike, well are they?
